Shattered Melodies: Lyrics of the song “Just You and Me” written by the hero to the heroine

Joe's typewriterIn Shattered Melodies,  there are a few phrases of a song called “Just You and Me,” which appears (I won’t say where…!) in the story.

So I got to thinking, and decided it would be fun to see if I could write the full-length song. So, that’s what I did! (But of course, I give credit to the hero of the story, Joe Lucitano, for inspiring me to write the whole jazz number!)

Enjoy!

JUST YOU AND ME

You know you want me

And I want you to see

How good we can be

JUST YOU AND ME

I can’t understand a thing

Except you

And I do accept you.

Accepting me

‘cuz it’s JUST YOU AND ME

It ended too soon

When we’d been out of tune

Now we’re starting to bloom

JUST YOU AND ME

Something to be celebrated

not carefully calculated

I think I’m infatuated

— with life; with love

Oh! Ain’t it a grand thing?

And we’ll go off together, forever

JUST YOU AND ME
